How did you first heat of letterboxing?

From: loujacksace (yoremop@cox.net) | Date: 2003-04-07 03:48:12 UTC
Just curious - how did folks hear about letterboxing?

I discovered letterboxing when doing a google search of stories about
the
legendary Black Dog of Meriden - a "ghost" of a dog that is said to
show itself
on the traprock ridges of Meriden, Ct. - one of the links took me to
letterboxing.org and voila!

How about you?

We read about letterboxing in a Rotarian magazine in November of 2000. FYI California had 14 boxes at that time. Don

I was searching on the internet for a picture of Hancock Hill (at
Blue Hills, MA) for a birthday party invitation and found a link for
a letterbox there (an later learned it was missing).

I just started geocaching about two and a half weeks ago and
discovered letterboxing through the links page on their site. I
haven't actually gone in search of a letterbox yet, I don't even have
a stamp, but I plan on trying with some friends some time during the
next few months. It looks to be as addictive as geocaching.

While searching for things to do in Orient NY, we stumbled on to "Orient Express" and Letterboxing, the rest is history

Hi CaveyLover People,
We found the BlueHills Birthday box on Sunday.
We didn't realize it was planted by you til we got there.
We are hoping to get a series of 8 boxes out into the
Blue Hills this weekend. Brian has spent countless hours
carving and stamping and planning and buying rubbermaid boxes.
I've become a "carving widow" - but that's ok.
